The CimetiÃ¨re d’Ixelles or Ixelles Cemetery is located in Ixelles and is one of two major cemeteries of Belgium where many well-known figures are buried. Surrounded by a 800 meters long wall the Ixelles Cemetery is impressive in size with it’s five hectares. Open Daily until 4:30PM

Lincoln, is a popular French comic strip created by JÃ©rÃ´me, Olivier & Anne-Claire Jouvray which portraits the theme of the lonely cowboy. The main character Lincoln is a lost soul drifting across the country without any purpose in life. One day God crosses his path and promising him happiness and immortality sets him on a mission to uphold justice.

Old town wall

PremiÃ¨re enceinte de Bruxelles

The “PremiÃ¨re enceinte de Bruxelles” is French for the first walls of Brussels, wich are a series of fortifications that were built around the city and date back from the 13th Century. Along the 4 KM long walls, forty individual towers were built as defenive measures where entry within the walls was possible by seven main gates.

American Indian street street artists performing at the corner or Rue du MarchÃ© aux Herbes and Agora Square. Seems to be the new rage right now in Europe. South Americans which dress up like North American Indians playing music with South American instruments and chanting unauthentic & stereotypical songs. Well from the crowds that gather to watch them and the money they get the Europeans either don’t seem to notice the difference or just don’t mind.

Ponds

Etangs d’Ixelles

From the four originals pounds of Les Ã‰tangs d’Ixelles (French for The Ixelles Ponds) only two have survived the 1860 campaign of drying the Maalbeek valley wetlands. The Ixelles Ponds are imposing in size at 700X50 metres and were originally an extension of the gardens of the Abbey de La Cambre. Making up a long strip of almost non-stop greenery that goes deep into the ForÃªt de Soignes this is a very popular recreation area for residents of Brussels.
