The Hotel Van Eetvelde is a magnificent Art Nouveau townhouse that was designed in two stages by Victor Horta. The bold facade of no.4, with its visible metal structure, dates from 1895. The architect has been particularly innovative with this, as well as with the interior spaces, which are organized around a glassed in area which bathes the refined reception rooms with a soft light. Completed a few years later, the corner extension (n°. 2) is easily recognizable from its carefully sculpted stone facade. The Federation of Gas Industry has been located here since 1950.
